Weekend Soccer Wrap-up

A mixed bag from Olympic teams over the weekend. Results as follows: Federation Premier: Olympic 0, Waterside 4 Defensive errors inflated the score but otherwise a committed and experienced Karori side had the edge over Olympic. A big come-down from last weeks victory over Miramar. Federation Reserve: Olympic 2, Waterside 1 A good if not lucky win for Olympic as it struggled for ball possesion. 2 chances and two goals from Gary Jones and Baz Mitrakis were enough to take maximum points. Capital 2: Olympic 0, Nth Wgtn 1 Unlucky not to come away with a win in this game but poor finishing denied Olympic in this game. A good step up from last weeks game. Capital 3: Olympic 5, Miramar 2 A great win against arch rivals Miramar keeps the "Police" team top of the group and looking good for 2002. Capital 13: Olympic 5, Waterside 1 3 goals from Nick Babarousos sealed a confortable win for Olympic. New signing "Vostikas" from Brazil also got 2 goals. Masters 1: olympic 3, Nth Wgtn 4 A poor first 10 minutes where Olympic conceded 2 goals meant that coming back against a strong Nth Wgtn side was always going to be difficult. Second half effort was nearly enough with Olympic missing a penalty in the 85th minute.
