Wellington Olympic Talent Development Programme (TDP)
Focused on Growth. Driven by Development
Wellington Olympic AFC is proud to announce that we have been awarded full Talent Development Programme (TDP) accreditation by Capital Football, becoming the newest club in the region to achieve this national benchmark.
This accreditation recognises our commitment to delivering high-quality youth development, professional coaching environments, and clear pathways into the highest levels of New Zealand football.
2026 Trials & Talent ID Sessions
Trials and open Talent ID sessions for our 2026 TDP squads will take place from late January 2026.
Exact dates and registration information will be confirmed soon.
A Four-Term High-Performance Programme
From 2026, Wellington Olympic will deliver a full TDP programme across U14, U15 and U17, aligned with the New Zealand Football framework.
Players can expect:
Three trainings per week across Terms 1 to 3, and two to three trainings per week in Term 4, depending on age group
A structured curriculum aligned with the Wellington Olympic playing philosophy, built on New Zealand Football’s TDP youth coaching principles. Our programme is player-centred, age-appropriate, and focused on long-term development.
Expert coaching led by our Technical Director
Competitive opportunities within the Capital Development League (CDL)
Strength and conditioning support and video analysis
Opportunities to compete in selected regional and national tournaments
A pathway connected directly to Olympic’s senior programmes, including Capital Premier, Central League, National League, and the U19 National Napier Tournament
Our aim is to develop confident, technically strong, thoughtful young people who grow not only as footballers but as well-rounded humans who are resilient, respectful, and capable on and off the pitch.
